iPad- The iPad is a tablet computer. It is a high tech tool. The iPad has an on-screen keyboard. You can also purchase an external keyboard for it. Apple produces and sells them from $499-$699, depending how much memory. The memory selection is, 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB. The iPad 2 is $399 for 16GB. Just recently, an iPad mini came out. The iPad mini is $329-529 depending on how much memory. The iPad comes in white and black. iPads benefit and enhance learning for everyone. There are at least 275,000 apps for the iPad. A lot of apps are educational. There are apps for communication, behavior, Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science, etc.

You have to explain that it has an argumentative and alternative communication (AAC) app that your child needs in order to communicate. You also need supporting information that iPads are used as an argumentative and alternative communication (AAC) tool. You also have to send in your child's IEP and any letters of recommendation from doctors, therapists, etc. If they do not pay for the iPad, they might require you to purchase it first and they will reimburse you.

1. iWriteWords- is a language arts handwriting app that is made by Gdiplus. Children use their fingers to trace each letter. It teaches handwriting while playing a fun game. Each time a letter is traced it is read out loud. When all the letters are traced correctly, the entire word is read out loud. It costs $2.99 on iTunes. 2. abc PocketPhonics- is a language arts app that teaches letter sounds, handwriting, and first words and it is made by Apps in My Pocket Ltd.
This app teaches children more than 170 frequently used words. Children use their fingers to trace each letter. The app says a letter out loud and asks the child to find the letter out of a group letters. More and more letters are produced, and eventually a word is built. This app costs $2.99 on iTunes.
