Computer Access is defined as, A means of approaching, entering, exiting, communicating with, or making use of computer access.
Computer access is extremely important for all students. It is necessary to make sure that a child with a disability is able to access the computer as any other. There are many different ways to have students access computers:
Low-Tech Devices:
1. Slanted Keyboards: these types of keyboards are great for students who have low functioning muscles or arms, hands, and fingers. The slant of the keyboard allows these students to access the keyboard better. Slanted Keyboards cost: $100.00.
3. Labels, they are a quick, easy and effective way to get students who have visual impairments to access the keyboard. Label makers usually run about $30.00-$100.00 and usually come with label tape.
